Uganda is a country in Eastern Africa, and is bordered by Kenya on the east, Congo on the west, Sudan to the North and Tanzania & Rwanda to the South. It is a country whose past may be defined by atrocities carried out by dictators, and whose present and future seem to be defined by the HIV and AIDS crisis. It is a land predominantly occupied by young people ages 0 to 19 who have been left to care for themselves.
Your team will have the incredible privilege of traveling to Karamoja, a region that lies northeast of Tororo (about an 8 hour drive), a land bordering Kenya and Sudan. Karamoja is the most rural area of Uganda. It is a 3-hour drive on dirt roads just to reach the first district. There is no power or running water as of yet in the entire area. The tribes are highly unreached and the majority are pastoralists. They are also known for being warriors and for raiding cattle from each other and the neighboring tribes. The living conditions are like nothing most people in the West could imagine. This trip will challenge you both physically and spiritually. Your team will work with a recently planted church that is pastored by Paul Jaka, a Youth Ablaze missionary, who is a native of this area. This trip will encompass encouraging the body of Christ through discipleship and provide ample opportunity to share the Gospel through open air evangelism.

Romania is the ninth largest country of the European Union by area, and the seventh largest population of European Union. The Capital and largest city is Bucharest. The Kingdom of Romania emerged when the principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia were united under Prince Alexander Ion Cuza in 1859. Independence from the Ottoman Empire was declared on May 9, 1877. By the end of the World War II, many north-eastern areas of Romania's territories were occupied by the Soviet Union, and Romania forcibly became a socialist republic and a member of the Warsaw Pact. With the fall of the Iron Curtain and the 1989 Revolution, Romania began to transition towards democracy and a capitalist market economy. After a decade of post-revolution economic problems, extensive reforms fostered economic recovery and the country joined the European Union on 1 January 2007.
Romania, while under communist rule brought great persecution to the Christian Church. Come to Romania this summer to meet and hear testimony from Christians who lived under the persecution of communism. Hear how God shared the Gospel through those who were faithful to Him, despite the real physical danger to their lives and of those that they loved.
